Northrop Grumman Command Point CAD System |
|
| Northwest Central Dispatch
System utilizes a computer aided dispatch system (CAD) to assist
call takers and dispatchers with their day to day work. The key
word with this system is "aided". The computer is programmed to
give the dispatcher greater accuracy and speed in providing
service. It will recommend specific units to send to a call
based on the location of the call. |

Positron Power 9-1-1 Phone System |
|
| The Enhanced
9-1-1 Phone system allows the call takers to see information
related to a 9-1-1 call coming in to the center. When they
answer a call, the system shows them the name, address, phone
number, and the police and fire jurisdiction that the address
belongs in (if this information is available. See the Cellular
9-1-1 page and VOIP page for additional information). The Enhanced 9-1-1
phone system and the CAD system work hand in hand to assist the
call taker. The two systems are integrated to allow the call
taker to enter the information in to the CAD directly from the
9-1-1 screen at the touch of a button. |

microDATA Mapping |
|
| Northwest Central Dispatch
uses mapping software provided by microDATA. This software
allows a dispatcher to see a map of the area where a call
originated and allows the dispatcher to assist the responding
units in finding the location of the caller. This software also
provides the location of a caller who is using a cell phone.
